Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell has been named the NBA’s Eastern Conference Player of the Week, the NBA announced on Monday.

Over the last week Mitchell led the Cavaliers to a 3-1 record while averaging 32 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game. This marks the first time that Mitchell has won the Eastern Conference Player of the Week Award, and the fourth time in his career he has been a Player of the Week honoree, after winning Western Conference Player of the Week three times as a member of the Utah Jazz.

Mitchell has played at an MVP-level this season with the Cavaliers, averaging a career-high 29.5 points per game while shooting 50.3% from the floor, 42.4% from 3-point range (on 9.3 attempts) and 88.9% from the free throw stripe. The Cavs currently sit at third place in the Eastern Conference, thanks in large part to Mitchell’s performance on the season.

Mitchell’s honor marks the 65th time in franchise history that a member of the Cavaliers, with 42 of those awards belonging to current Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James.
