With free agency on hold, pro day workouts pre-occupied NFL front offices this week.

Well, most front offices. The Browns’ attention was diverted someplace else; their top football men took a pass on Cam Ward’s pro day in Coral Gables, FL on Monday.

SMH.

On Tuesday, the headline pro days were at Texas and Louisville. On Wednesday, Ohio State’s pro day takes center stage. The CFP national champion Buckeyes  could break Georgia’s record of having 15 players selected in a draft in a given year. Will the Browns send Top Men?

The gauntlet of pro days rounds out with Notre Dame and Texas A&M on Thursday, followed by Penn State and Mississippi on Friday.

After that, team owners, GMs and coaches head to Palm Beach, FL, for NFL owners meetings, where trade talk could result in movement of the first round draft order.

1. Tennessee: QB Cam Ward, Miami

Comment: A new GM who inherits No. 1 overall pick rarely bypasses draft’s top quarterback.

2. Cleveland: WR-CB Travis Hunter, Colorado

Comment: Touchdowns, first downs and defensive takeaways are urgent Browns’ needs. Hunter provides all three.

3. N.Y. Giants: QB Shedeur Sanders, Colorado

Comment: Giants call Browns’ bluff and seal the marriage Deion wanted all along.

4. New England: EDGE Abdul Carter, Penn State

Comment: Preferred Hunter, but won’t attempt to trade up.

5. Jacksonville: DT Mason Graham, Michigan

Comment: Joins formidable rush line with Travon Walker.

6. Las Vegas: RB Ashton Jeanty, Boise State

Comment: Pete Carroll going old school and beefing up run game.
