Browns defensive tackle Michael Hall will miss only one more game before he’s eligible to return to the team.

The NFL handed down a five-game suspension of Hall for violations of the personal conduct policy, but it is retroactive to time served while on the commissioner’s exempt list. He will be reinstated on October 7 following the Browns’ fifth game Sunday against the Washington Commanders.

Hall will forfeit five game checks for a total of $220,833.

Hall was arrested in August and charged with a misdemeanor count of domestic violence after an argument with his fiancée in Avon. The original incident report filed by the victim’s mother alleged that Hall put a gun to the head of his fiancée. But the woman recanted that account four days later, writing, “I do not recall seeing any guns around me.”

On September 19, Hall pleaded no contest to a reduced charge of disorderly conduct. He received a 30-day suspended jail sentence, two years probation and a $250 fine.

Hall, of Garfield Heights and Streetsboro, and Ohio State, was GM Andrew Berry’s first pick in the 2024 draft. He was the 54th overall selection in the second round.

Hall’s fresh legs can be of use to a Browns’ defense that looked sluggish in losses the past two weeks to the Giants and Raiders. Maurice Hurst, one of the two defensive tackle starters to begin the season, was placed on injured reserve on September 27 with a pectoral injury.

Hall was not allowed to practice with the Browns while on the exempt list, but he was able to attend meetings and work out in the facility.
