It’s May, so let’s go golfing.

Or, rather, #LetsGoGolfing.

Yes, the interactive golf show on 850 ESPN Cleveland is back. Saturday at 8 a.m. we launch our fourth season. Fore!

#LetsGoGolfing is dedicated to the abundance of wonderful public golf courses in Northeast Ohio we are blessed to play. Native Clevelanders should never take for granted the variety and number of public courses in our area. We are the envy of many larger markets.

Our show doesn’t debate PGA Tour v. LIV, or whether Tiger Woods will ever win again. We talk about golf courses. Our local public courses.

What’s happening at Highland Park Golf Course? What’s the future of Ironwood? What’s new at Sleepy Hollow, Seneca and Manakiki? Where are the best Par 3s? The best finishing holes? The best “19th hole”?

Each of the next 12 weeks, we feature a public course. We play it, interview its general manager, club pro, or greenskeeper, and then review it. We rank each course on a scale of 1 to 5 in five categories – condition, difficulty, Par 3s (my favorite), amenities and value. 

Each show also features an interview with a local celebrity about their game, their favorite courses, their experiences playing the incredibly challenging yet rewarding game of golf.

One of my favorite parts of the show is feedback from listeners. We want to know your opinions of the courses we plan to review. How do you rate them? What do you like about the course, and what do you not like? Your favorite holes? Your memorable shots? What would you change on the course?

9. July 8: Shale Creek Golf Club in Medina.

10. July 15: Ridgewood Golf Course in Parma.

11. July 22: Windmill Lakes Golf Club in Ravenna.

12. July 29: To be determined. We will announce the course for the season finale at a later date.
