Hey Tony: Kevin Stefanski has said that he loves the use of a fullback. Do you see us retaining Kareem Hunt & Nick Chubb and using those two as a RB/FB combo? Or do you believe a different scenario will happen?

-- Richie, Tiffin, OH

Hey Richie: Assuming Hunt is retained – he is a restricted free agent – I would think the duo of Nick Chubb and Hunt would just fascinate Stefanski and an offensive staff versed in creativity. The possibilities of using both running backs go beyond traditional halfback-fullback sets. Both are adept receivers and lead blockers, also. Hunt’s pass catching skills – and running after catch – are elite for a back; Chubb continues to improve in those areas. I just think having two backs like these is a unique set of offensive weapons that a smart coaching staff would exploit.

Hey Tony: Can we expect to see our new GM and coach present in Mobile this week for the Senior Bowl?

-- Lance, Millersburg, OH

Hey Lance: Stefanski said on 850 ESPN Cleveland that he didn’t expect to attend the Senior Bowl practices. Without a new GM on board yet, I’m going to assume the Browns will be represented by Eliot Wolf, assistant GM, and Alonzo Highsmith, VP of player personnel, plus a majority of the scouting staff.

Hey Tony: Are we looking at another 1st time HC, also being OC and calling plays? Browns haven’t learned from this?

-- Dan, Hilliard, OH

Hey Dan: Yes, this double-dip possibility scares me. Stefanski told me he would make a “concerted” effort to hire a coordinator in whom he could trust to handle play-calling duties – but he wouldn’t guarantee it. Let’s see how his coordinator search plays out.

Hey Tony: The choice for Stefanski over Robert Saleh had to be a tough one! Did the Browns pick importance of offense over defense? Saleh looks like the real deal!

-- Chad, Erie, PA

Hey Chad: Stefanski had two things going for him over Saleh – 1. The Browns’ familiarity with him through the interview process a year ago; 2. Stefanski’s offensive background. I’ve said this before: It would have been fascinating to see what the Browns would have done if the 49ers had lost to the Vikings, thus freeing up Saleh ahead of Stefanski. I think they would have been tempted to go ahead and hire Saleh. We’ll never know. I’d expect Saleh to be the next defensive coordinator to ascend to the head coach ranks next hiring season.

Hey Tony: Will the Browns try to build the offensive line primarily through free agency or the draft?

-- Patrick, Newark, OH

Hey Patrick: Both. One offensive tackle in free agency, at least one in the draft.

Hey Tony: Which OT of the "big 3 OTs" would you like to see the Browns draft, Andrew Thomas, Jedrick Wills, or Tristan Wirfs?

-- Nick, Doylestown, OH

Hey Nick: I joke on the radio that they should get the biggest, quickest, corn-fed lineman from the Big Ten. That would be Wirfs of Iowa among the top three. Yes, it’s a joke; you would take the best one available. But I wouldn’t be unhappy with Wirfs, that’s for sure.

Hey Tony: Aside from O-line, what is your opinion of the next position we draft?

-- Ryan, Charlotte, NC

Hey Ryan: Of course, activity in free agency precedes the draft and will dictate early choices in the draft. But I would think the defense would benefit from a speedy pass rusher because I don’t believe Olivier Vernon will be back.

Hey Tony: Have you heard any news on Gary Kubiak? Is he a possibility for OC?

-- Jeff, Hilton Head Island, SC

Hey Jeff: Sadly, there is no indication Kubiak is leaving the Vikings, or has any desire to do so. If he were to join Stefanski as OC, I would be elated.

Hey Tony: I should know this by now (so many coaching changes) but how much and in what way can Kevin Stefanski meet with players, particularly Baker Mayfield, to enable players to begin learning new system and play book?

-- Larry, Hubbard, OH

Hey Larry: Arcane NFL rules imbedded in the CBA preclude coaches from having any formal meetings with players until the offseason conditioning program begins in April. The rule of common sense, however, allows new coaches to meet their players individually or via telephone.

Hey Tony: If Baker has another down year is it time to move on? Or give him a break since he has had more head coaches than years in the league?

-- Ryan, Canton, OH

Hey Ryan: Another down year would be two out of three and might result in dusting off Paul DePodesta’s analytics model in scouting quarterbacks.

Hey Tony: Who is more likely to be traded? Kareem Hunt, OBJ or a mystery player?

-- Bill, Houston, TX

Hey Bill: Hunt is a restricted free agent and won’t be traded. Of your remaining choices, I would say Odell Beckham Jr.’s future with the Browns is more uncertain than before the parting with GM John Dorsey.

Hey Tony: Do you think the new GM, whoever that is will try to sign Joe Schobert?

-- Andrew, Philadelphia, PA

Hey Andrew: I know that Schobert’s foot speed does not score high in analytics, but I can’t fathom why the Browns would let him walk in free agency.

Hey Tony: How many people would you estimate have joined the ex-files? Appreciate the info, King of Sabe!

-- Brian, Dayton, OH

Hey Brian: As of this writing, the figure stood at 3,265. Is that a lot?
