Any golfer knows how blessed we are in Northeast Ohio for the wide variety of beautiful courses in the area, from municipal public tracks to private country clubs.

That alone served as the premise for the launch of Let’s Go Golfing three years ago on 850 ESPN Cleveland. The point of the show was to feature a different public course each week. We’d explore the course with the resident golf pro or manager, play the course, and then rate it in five categories.

That was the year the coronavirus pandemic strangled the country. When warmer weather finally came, golf courses became a welcome sanctuary to finally get out of the house. Every local course set records for rounds played.

Business boomed the following year, too. On the show, we added Michelob Ultra as a title sponsor and a celebrity interview each week to talk about playing golf in Northeast Ohio.

This season, we’d like to get more input from local golfers. We’d like to know your feelings about the courses we’re planning to review this year.

Season 3 will launch this weekend. Every Saturday from 8-9 a.m. for the next 12 weeks, we’ll feature a public golf course. We’re trying not to repeat courses from the previous two seasons. The schedule is fluid, but we expect the 12 courses to come from the following list:

* Manakiki Golf Course in Willoughby Hills

* Sleepy Hollow Golf Course in Brecksville

* The Quarry Golf Club in Canton

* Sanctuary Golf Club in North Canton

* Pleasant Valley Golf Course in Medina

* Sugar Bush Golf Club in Garrettsville

* Hawks Nest Golf Club in Creston

* Painesville Country Club in Painesville

* Red Tail Golf Club in Avon

* St. Denis Golf Course in Chardon

* StoneWater Golf Club in Highland Heights

* Valley of the Eagles Golf Club in Elyria

* Seneca Golf Course in Broadview Heights

* Gleneagles Golf Club in Twinsburg

* The Legends of Massillon in Massillon

* Raintree Golf in Uniontown

* Grey Hawk Golf Club in LaGrange

* Madison Country Club in Madison

* Bunker Hill Golf Course in Medina

* Punderson State Park Golf Course in Newbury

* Tanglewood Club in Chagrin Falls

* Turkey Foot Lake Golf Links in Akron

So here’s what we’re asking. If you’ve played any of these courses, we’d like your comments to the following questions:

1. What did you like about the course?

2. What did you not like?

3. What do you consider the signature hole and how have you fared on it?

4. Did you have any memorable super shots – an ace, eagle or something unique?

5. Is there anything you’d like to ask the course pro or manager about the course?

Send me your comments with your name at tgrossi@goodkarmabrands.com and we’ll incorporate them on the show when we review the course.

Our first show is Saturday at 8 a.m. and the first course of the season is Valley of the Eagles. Our first guest is Browns All-Pro guard Wyatt Teller. So if you want to contribute to the show on Valley of the Eagles, send in your comments before Saturday.

It’s going to be a great golf season. So Let’s Go Golfing. And hit ‘em straight.
